become one of Golf's most famous success stories.
Tiger Woods is a professional American golfer with an extraordinary
long list of credits and wins and he is still a young man.
Already he is ranked among the most successful golfers of
all time. Tiger currently holds the record for golf's longest
ranked number 1 after holding the number 1 position for 623
weeks! That is phenomenal and Tiger is a phenomenon. In 2007,
during Tiger Wood's prolonged period at the very top of his
sport he was the highest-paid professional athlete. His estimated
wealth was around $122 million, money made from from winnings
and endorsements.
So far, Tiger Woods has won fourteen professional
major golf championships
as well as 65 PGA Tour events. That is more major wins and PGA
Tour wins than any other golfer currently playing the game.
Tiger Woods is multiracial and has been credited
for a significant increase of interest in the game of golf.
When Tiger Woods is to appear at a tournament there is a dramatic
increase in attendance figures and TV ratings. Tiger Woods is
also responsible for having generated an increase of interest
among a multicultural audience in a game that was widely seen
as a elitist sport.
